Culture & Values

We want to be more than just a festival

Dare to care

Bayside Festival is part of the RFSU initiative Dare To Care since 2020. Dare To Care is an encouraging investment for consent in all sexual meetings and prevention of sexual assault - within the live music world and everywhere else. By educating festival promoters, be visible at live music events and spread the message through social media, Dare To Care wants to spread its message and create a positive live culture. Dare To Care wants to implement two behaviours: self awareness and spectator awareness. If we can we develop our awareness, then we can get a culture of consent at festivals which we later can transfer to society in general.

The most important issue for Dare To Care is that you as a visitor feel safe at festivals and events no matter gender, sexuality, religion or ethnicity. We have a zero tolerance policy against discrimination at our festivals, including on our social media spaces. Incidents involving discrimination will be reported to the police and you will be banned from the festival. Bayside Festival is about 100% love, to live music, festivals and each other.

Dare to act. Dare to care. Spread love, not hate.

Emissions

Bayside Festival leaves a mark. You will notice through your newly found friends, your sneakers which are not that white anymore, your sore legs after jumping in the crowd, your playlists which has grown or the feeling in your stomach when you have met a new love interest. But something that you might not notice, are our emissions.

Just like most festivals in the world, Bayside Festival has an impact on the environment. We as promoters always tries to find new ways to lower our emissions. During the last few years, we only use 100% recyclable disposable items, major investment within bottle recycling and waste and new technical inventions with stage lighting and confetti. Since 2019 we collaborate with Sweden's festival and sustainability bureau LiveGreen. LiveGreen supports us within the evaluation of the festival.

With that said, we aim to do even more. We must take other initiatives and come up with new innovative ideas for future festival goers.

Associations

Bayside Festival love associations.

Our organisation is based from the association environment and wants to support other associations alike. We believe associations are an important part of the life where young and old people meet.

Since the beginning, we have collaborated with different associations in order to execute our festival. This is our way to enable an important economic boost in order for all organisations to continue their work.

No associations, no Bayside Festival.
